The inadvertent expatriate blogger behind Harbor Frame Canvas

Hello, I'm Noah
I work as a project manager. I’m a parent. An expat based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter living abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Netherlands wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks felt more complex than they should have.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines formed. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Harbor Frame Canvas
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Netherlands.
What This Site Stands For (And What It Does Not)
This site IS:
- Practical insights from living in Netherlands
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when real changes occur
This site DOES NOT REPRESENT:
- A resource for tourism authorities
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- An ordinary travel blog
Moving Forward
Our stay in Netherlands goes on, and the learning continues. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Amsterdam or anywhere in Netherlands, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best wishes,
Noah
